She had many loves but cherished her family most of all. She often commented that as long as she was surrounded by her loved ones, she had everything.
She raised her two girls, Raylee and Robyn on her own which would have been a formidable task at the time.
She always had an incredibly positive attitude and her advice to others who were feeling unhappy in any way was to try to keep your cup at least half full. Her own cup was mostly overflowing.
She was involved in many community associations throughout her life and had plenty of joy to spread around leaving most people happier after being in her presence.
She loved her puzzles and was a master of Suduko and crosswords!
Audrey also loved writing letters and poetry and has written an extensive life story which the family is considering publishing.
“We lost my Nana a couple of weeks ago, so I immediately wanted to sponsor a star in her name, Audrey Cooper. She was 94 years old and still living on her own until recently and while she had never made it up to Christmas in Cooroy she followed the media stories on the event and was very proud of my involvement as event manager. This Christmas she will be a part of our town’s special event too and she would be delighted to be memorialised in this way” said Cooroy Chamber of Commerce President, Danielle Taylor.
“Christmas in Cooroy is such a wonderful event that is focused on family, community and all the spirit of the festive season. Ricon’s Sponsor a Star idea is such a lovely way to include those who can’t be with us,”
